ICYMI: Becko Releases Cover Of Linkin Park's "Points of Authority"

Linkin Park’s comeback was the talk of 2024 across all of music. The band is largely influential for how a good deal of heavier mainstream music has been done in the first quarter of the 21st century, with many of today’s rock and metal stars citing LP as an influence. Among them is the Italian musician Marco Calanca (ex-Hopes Dies last), particularly with his hybrid project Becko, which blends hard rock, hip-hop, and industrial music to a satisfying result.

Perhaps Calanca knew something that the rest of us didn’t, as just one month before Linkin Park’s comeback was announced, Becko released a cover of “Points of Authority,” from the band’s debut album Hybrid Theory that was supposed to be (and arguably should have been) a single. Becko’s cover is faithful to the original, as Calanca handles both Chester’s and Mike’s vocal parts with ease. It is a loving tribute to one of rock’s biggest acts, and that’s enough.

Becko’s newest album RAGE was released last month and is available on Bandcamp.
