BABYMETAL have helped put metal on a global scale with their idol stylings and numerous collaborations with heavy metal heavyweights, and their latest album METAL FORTH is a celebration of the art form. Their first album released on a major label has seen great chart success, even cracking the top ten of the vaunted Billboard 200.
Now, the band have announced their For Your Consideration campaign for this year's Grammy Awards, shining the spotlight on the aforementioned album for five awards. In addition to Best Rock Album and Album of the Year, METAL FORTH has been submitted for Best Recording Package, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Immersive Audio Album.
One of the record's runaway singles, "from me to u" featuring Poppy, has also been submitted for five awards: Best Metal Performance, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rock Song, and Best Music Video.
The latter has also seen a live version treatment, as recorded at the O2 in London, as well as use in the first trailer for Marvel Zombies, which is streaming now on Disney+.
Should any of these submissions turn into nominations, it would make the first such nod for BABYMETAL.
