Love them or hate them, worship them or despise them, Sleep Token have taken the world of heavy music by storm in recent years. Today (July 23rd), it was announced that their 2023 breakthrough album Take Me Back To Eden has received a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), cracking one million equivalent units sold.
For the uninitiated, an equivalent unit in terms of an album means either a standard purchase of the album, physical or digital, or ten individual tracks purchased from said album. A unit can also be achieved by 1,500 streams of songs from the album, either audio or video.
The album, released on May 19th, 2023 via Spinefarm Records, contains singles such as "The Summoning," "Rain," and "Aqua Regia." The album would peak in the top ten in nine different international charts, including five separate Billboard charts. "The Summoning" also went Gold itself in April of this year.
Take Me Back To Eden also marks Spinefarm Records' first Platinum record in their history. Sleep Token have since found a home with RCA Records.
More recently, Sleep Token received several Grammy nominations for the Even In Arcadia album cycle, including noms for singles "Emergence" and "Caramel."
