Static-X's "Push It" Goes Gold

You push it... to a gold record!

It's been a great week for nu metal. One day after Dope's "Die MF Die" picked up a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Static-X's debut single "Push It," from their 1999 album Wisconsin Death Trip, has received a Gold record, amassing 500,000 units sold domestic.

This marks the band's first Gold single from the RIAA. The band's first two albums, the aforementioned Wisconsin Death Trip and its 2001 follow-up Machine, have both gone gold, with the former going Platinum.

The band are on a number of festival bills both domestic and foreign, including Sonic Temple, Welcome to Rockville, Download, and more. Their website has their full list.
