Ozzy Osbourne's Cause Of Death Confirmed Via Death Certificate

Two weeks after his passing at the age of 76, we now know the cause of death of the beloved Prince of Darkness.

On Tuesday, July 22nd, we lost Ozzy Osbourne, just a couple short weeks following the "Back to the Beginning" concert in his native Birmingham, England. Last week, he was laid to rest, after a funeral procession through the streets of his hometown and a private ceremony at his family estate. Now, two weeks after his death at the age of 76, his cause of death has been made public.

According to a report from Alex Marshall of The New York Times, Osbourne passed away from a heart attack. It was noted on his death certificate, submitted by his daughter Aimee, that he dealt with coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease, with the full wording for his cause of death and contributing factors as follows:

“(a) Out of hospital cardiac arrest (b) Acute myocardial infarction (c) Coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction (Joint Causes).”

The UK newspaper Daily Mail reported that an air ambulance was dispatched to the Osbourne estate in Buckinghamshire on July 22nd, after which paramedics spent an estimated two hours trying to save and stabilize Osbourne to no avail.

The music world is still reeling from this immeasurable loss, but the music, influence, and impact of Ozzy Osbourne will live on forever.
