System Of A Down's Shavo Odadjian Reveals Details About Upcoming Solo Album, Collab with Korn's Jonathan Davis

Odadjian hinted at a collaboration with KORN's Jonathan Davis, with the song being the 12th track on his upcoming album.

Speaking recently with Radioactive MikeZ on "Wired In The Empire," System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian opened up about his upcoming debut solo album. In collaboration with producer and songwriter Michael Montoya (MorgothBeatz), Odadjian is currently working on the album, which he describes as a return to his roots and a departure from his previous hip-hop exploration. He shared that the music is heavier than ever before and is flowing out of him effortlessly. Odadjian also hinted at a collaboration with Korn's Jonathan Davis, with the song being the 12th track on the album. The solo LP is expected to be released late this year or early next year.

Odadjian's creative process is an interesting one. He is recording both the bass and guitar parts himself, with the drums being programmed before a live drummer is brought in for the album. He shared that MorgothBeatz plays a beat, and then he writes lyrics, which are recorded and pieced together to create the final product. Odadjian spoke about the artistic freedom he feels in the studio and how he's excited to share his unique sound with the world.

As for touring plans, Odadjian is eager to hit the road and bring "Shavo" to his fans. He sees this project as an opportunity to showcase his DNA and what people have come to expect from him.
