The Nightwatchman himself Tom Morello has partnered with Fender to release an official version of his legendary "Arm The Homeless" guitar. The instrument, the original article of which is a Frankenstein's six-string composed of all aftermarket parts assembled by the man himself, was used on songs such as "Bombtrack," "Vietnow," and so many more. It was further immortalized in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Morello served as a boss enemy to take on in a guitar duel, with "Bulls on Parade" making the setlist and the guitar being available to purchase in the in-game store.
Now, for the price of US$1,699.99, you too can own one, though a portion of the proceeds have been pledged to The Midnight Mission and Covenant House. The ice blue custom axe can be pre-ordered on Fender's website, with an estimated shipping date of Thursday, December 18th.
Morello recently sat down with the folks at Fender to talk about the guitar, its crafting origin story, and the 22 albums it has featured on over Morello's three decade plus career. Seeing him recreate noises in his style on the guitar is a sight to behold as well.
