On the night of September 7th, the MTV Video Music Awards celebrated the best in the medium. The world of rock and metal was shaken by the amazing tribute paid to Ozzy Osbourne, the metal legend that left us earlier this year.
The “dream team” was formed by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, singer and guitarist of Aerosmith, YUNGBLUD, Nuno Bettencourt, Kevin Figueiredo and Pat Badger of Extreme, Melissa Etheridge's bass player Derek Frank and longtime Ozzy Osbourne keyboardist Adam Wakeman. Before the show, a video message from Jack Osbourne, son of Ozzy Osbourne, in which he said "I know for sure it would make him incredibly happy to see these great musicians carry on his legacy and help inspire the next generation of rockers. I'd like to give a special shout out to Dom [Yungblud], Nuno, Steve and Joe from Aerosmith. We love you, Dad."
After these words, the show began and this strong line-up of musician performed a tribute medley with excerpts of some of Ozzy Osbourne's most memorable songs, “Crazy Train”, “Changes,” and “Mama I’m Coming Home” this last song finishing with an epic soaring climax of voices and guitars.
