While not a nu metal classic on its own, a song from the heyday of the genre that fans will be familiar with is t.A.T.u.’s “All The Things She Said.” The queer and sapphic anthem is a 2000s pop staple, and has been covered by nu artists such as Poppy in recent years. As the original utilizes two vocalists, what if another famous co-fronted band put their spin on the song?
Anthony Vincent, best known for his YouTube channel Ten Second Songs, gives “All The Things She Said” the works, re-imagining the song as a Linkin Park jam. In his interpretation, Mike Shinoda’s rapping takes the verses, while Chester Bennington’s singing and screaming takes the choruses, and the result is something that feels like it could have been from the band’s early years circa Meteora.
It’s a very fun interpretation, and given that the late Chester Bennington’s child Draven recently came out as transgender, giving an LGBTQ+ anthem a Linkin Park facelift is an even greater joy for fans who resonate with it.
