British nu-hardcore stompers Bodyweb have released the video for their new single “deadwire” from their upcoming EP deadwired, available for pre-order now and out on 12" September 5 on the band’s new home at Flatspot Records.
The video, directed by Martina Pastori, shows Bodyweb practically bouncing off the sparse white walls of a warehouse in time with the music’s constant pulsing energy. The lineup, consisting of Louis Hardy (Higher Power, et al.), Ben Jones (Pest Control), pq (Nihiloxica), Luke Thompson (Stiff Meds), Tom Hobson (Dai Tan Films), and Naomi Macleod (Empire State Bastard), combines blistering breakdowns with an atmospheric, pensive exploration of sound.
According to ThePRP, Hardy said of the song: “It’s about fading relationships, cutting people off, and seeking truth in a world of lies. Life is full of suffering, but being entirely blameless for your own suffering is a surefire way to becoming disconnected from your own soul. It’s important to have faith in something.”
The band’s streaming bio describes their influences as ranging across a number of palettes from Slipknot to Björk.
“Entirely self-produced, deadwired upgrades the sonic formula laid down on their previous EP, 2023’s train_wreck_simulation, and raises the question: what else could exist in Bodyweb’s twisted roadmap?” the bio reads. “Nothing seems impossible.”
Bodyweb is set to play at Number 90 Live in London on August 7 and at Cafe Kino in Bristol on August 29.
