Breaking Benjamin Bring Out 7-Foot Tall Genetically-Engineered Child Super Soldier at Louder Than Life Festival

Just don't ask Benjamin Burnley his opinions on Halo 5.

Everyone knows Breaking Benjamin and Halo go hand in hand. Okay, not everyone knows, but they should. "Blow Me Away" is one of the band's most popular tunes, and was written specifically for Halo 2 (The most nu-metal game of all time, fight me on it).

Well, recently the band's been leaning into it. HARD. Whether on social media, where they frequently make, repost, and engage with Halo and Halo 2 themed content, or in their concerts, where they feature a montage of Halo 2: Anniversary cutscene footage during the intro of the song, the combination is inescapable.

It makes sense that at Louder Than Life, the USA's biggest rock and metal festival, they would take this to a whole new level.

During their performance, a creator by the handle of @a_gamers_basement on instagram would join the band on stage for the performance, sporting a nerf Needler and dressed head to toe (except for his sneakers) in Mark VI Mjolnir Armor (specificially the version Chief wears in Halo Infinite), firing into the crowd. It's nice to see Breaking Benjamin lean into this side of their history, especially as a Halo fan.

And who knows, maybe they'll show up at the Halo Championship Series Worlds event. That'd be cool, and with the HCS team planning the biggest event in years (seeing as how they aren't having a 2026 season), it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

Halo 2, and "Blow Me Away", celebrated their 20th anniversary last year, and The Nu Metal Agenda celebrated it with a merch collection, designed by myself and Holiday Kirk, available here.
