Fear Factory To Release "Roboticist" Next Week

After nearly three years at the helm of industrial metal pioneers Fear Factory, Milo Silvestro will make his studio track premiere in just days, marking the first step in a new era for the band. The track has been named "Roboticist," and is set to release on Saturday, August 29th.

Despite their decades-long warning and rallying against artificial intelligence and the machine uprising, it would seem that even the godfathers of the genre aren't immune, as a teaser image released last week, though blurred, was given a "Made with AI" label by X (formerly Twitter).

Of course, fans rightly called it out, and the band responded with "it's always been here," which feels like such a cop-out, but setting that to one side, this is exciting for Fear Factory. This will be the first original music from the band since 2022's Aggression Continuum, and their first release overall since the "Re-Industrialized" version of 2015's The Industrialist. While modern Fear Factory has leaned more into the band's thrash and death metal origins, a new vocalist in Silvestro, not to mention a new drummer in Pete Webber, could open the door for a new sound for the soul of a new machine.

While a new album has been promised this year, a release date for what will be the band's eleventh LP has yet to be announced, but with a new single on the horizon, it should only be a matter of time.

Meanwhile, Fear Factory are celebrating 25 years of their Digimortal album on tour throughout the remainder of 2026, with the following dates confirmed to come:
