Glasslands Smell "Blood In The Water" With Moody New Single

The solo project of Josh Kincheloe has a massive-sounding new song out, following on from "Bottom Feeder" back in March.

Nashville native Josh Kincheloe, under his atmospheric metal project Glasslands, has released a new single in the dark and ominous "Blood In The Water." Kincheloe's production leans more into industrial and electronic elements, though there are plenty of detuned guitars to keep this firmly in the metal realm. There is a push and pull within the track, an ebb and flow that eventually spills over by the bridge, and it makes for an alluring listen.

Check out the song below:

Those looking for something more overtly nu should check out the previous single Glasslands dropped in March, "Bottom Feeder." Here, Kincheloe raps through the verses in hushed tones, with the guitar work sounding more chaotic and unhinged.

It's as is Kincheloe has blended the vocal techniques of Jonathan Davis and Chino Moreno and was raised on 2010s metalcore, getting bored of so-called "Octanecore" quickly and branching out as swiftly as he could.

The analogy got away from me there, but regardless, we'll be keeping an eye on Kincheloe and Glasslands.
