Jen Majura (ex-Evanescence) Is Leaving The Music Industry, Citing "Overwhelming Amount of Ridiculousness"

Among her gripes are the growing use of AI, as well as the "attitudes and values" of the industry at large.

In a post to her Instagram, Jen Majura, former guitarist and backing vocalist of Evanescence, has announced that she is leaving the music industry.

Majura joined Evanescence in 2015 following the departure of longtime guitarist Terry Balsamo. She played on the band's 2017 compilation album Synthesis and their 2021 LP The Bitter Truth, before leaving the band in 2022 for reasons still unknown to the public. Following this, she joined up with How We End, featuring Diva Satanica (ex-Nervosa) and Jake E (Cyhra, Amaranthe).

It is a shame to see a talent like Majura taking her leave from the game, but her reasoning cannot be faulted. Sometimes it takes walking away and recollecting oneself to figure out what they really want to accomplish. Whether she returns to music or not, may Jen Majura find peace and direction.
