When thinking of songs that would work well in choral arrangements, anything by Rage Against The Machine wouldn't be my pick in a month of Sundays. Black Sabbath could work, yes, but I've got a hard time envisioning anything from the nu metal progenitors Rage in a choral format, as they only needed one voice to get the job done.
Enter the Maine Music Collective to prove us all wrong, as they posted a video of their performance of "Killing In The Name," interspersed with verses from Black Sabbath's classic "War Pigs." The Collective's motto is "humanity through harmony," and this is about as human as it gets.
As the caption on the video reads,
"Teaching an entire chorus how to properly sing vulgarities was not on our 2026 bingo card but you know…we’re pretty okay with it.
For our April One Day Chorus, we had the pleasure of performing Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine, mashed up with War Pigs by Black Sabbath. Felt awfully fitting for where things are at. 😌 All the proceeds from this event went to Project Relief Maine, who are doing some incredible work with folks in our community who need the help right now!"

A huge thank you to Will for throwing down some serious moves on the piano! And a HUGE thank you to all the talented strangers who joined us for this event! If you’d like to join us for our next One Day Chorus, we’ll be singing Pink Pony Club by @chappell roan on 5/30 in Saco, Maine! There are no auditions, and no rehearsals. You sign up and receive your music and practice tracks to sing along with. Then on the day of the performance, you show up and meet your fellow singers for the very first time, rehearse together for a couple of hours, perform together then head home! It’s that simple and SO much fun! Visit our website for deets and to register. We can’t wait to sing with you! #rage #music #fyp #rageagainstthemachine #blacksabbath
