Drain Raises $40k For Immigrants In Need

Like The Descendants before them, Drain is doing good good things in the name of hardcore.

While not necessarily explicitly nu metal, it never hurts to highlight a band doing objectively, good, good things. The crossover-thrash and hardcore band Drain has made a fundraiser shirt that is anti-ice and pro-humanity. The band is proving that anyone having can have an impact, no matter their listener counts or perceived popularity. The shirt was announced on Instagram to be sold for 3 days only last weekend, stating:

Fuck ICE. Fuck Donald Trump. If this bothers you, please unfollow us immediately, stop listening to our music, and don’t come to any shows. No room for hate, racism, sexism, homophobia, or any other bullshit bigotry at a DRAIN show ❤

A hardcore band is upholding their values of community building and helping others, and that is to be commended and recognized. Putting that money where your mouth is, if you will. It's one thing to be against ICE, but when it comes to taking action you should be about that life too. Selling over 2,000 shirts for hardcore and donating $40k for that cause is no joke.

In an Instagram statement by The Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County, frontman Sammy Said,

"I'm thankful I live in a place with helpful people where I can just drop off a check. There aren't many places that can do this."
