Fear Factory's Dino Cazares Takes Aim At Christian Olde Wolbers, Angst Fabrik

Fear Factory are ramping up for a return, having released "Roboticist" at the end of August. With new vocalist Milo Silvestri being such a prominent talking point in the metal world, the line of sight finds its way to prior members of the band, more recently Christian Olde Wolbers, who left the band in 2009 following the reformation of the band and Dino Cazares coming back into the fold.

In March 2025, Wolbers announced that he was forming his own band called Angst Fabrik, which should look familiar to any German speakers reading this (and if you're a fan of any industrial music, surely you know a bit). Recently, Wolbers announced that his former Fear Factory cohort Raymond Herrera would be joining Angst Fabrik, reuniting the duo for the first time since their days in Arkaea.

It seems as though Dino had some thoughts on the matter, as a video would be posted to socials with Cazares behind the drum kit, in an apparent dig at his former bandmates. The caption reads:

After 16 long years Dino is back on the kit playing the most insane kick drum pattern in FF's history. We add some synthetic oil to his knees and ankles and boom he killing it. What are your thoughts are u happy he's back on the drums YES -NO ?

Just to offer a glimpse into how deep this feud runs, it goes all the way back to 2009, when Wolbers and Herrera said they wouldn't reunite the original lineup with Cazares, and Cazares accused Wolbers and Herrera of being too much about the money. To call the situation, which really only recently resolved in a court of law, a shitshow would be offensive to pageants of a fecal nature, but oh it gets worse. Cazares took to Twitter and, when asked about what the deal was, offered:

You read it wrong. A lot has changed in 16 years, and the drumming in FF has progressed significantly since then. I don’t even know if that’s a challenge he’d want to take on.

When asked if Herrera would be welcomed back, Cazares declined, commenting:

No ,because the drumming in Fear Factory has changed significantly since his last recorded FF album Transgression.

To Cazares' credit, the band's drummer was "The Atomic Clock" Gene Hoglan during much of that time, so fair point. In any case, the band's new drummer Pete Webber has made his studio release debut with "Roboticist," and is playing the band's tour dates in Europe and the UK, before the band make their way back stateside alongside Mushroomhead.
