An Instagram Story shared by Israel Arvizu — son of Korn bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu — shows the musician standing alongside drummer Ray Luzier and others at the annual National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) convention. The image began circulating on the Korn subreddit on Wednesday (February 11th), sparking discussion among fans as one of the first public instances in years of Fieldy appearing alongside a current member of the band.
Fieldy revealed last year that he had not spoken with his Korn bandmates since 2019. The bassist stepped away from the group in 2021 to work on his “bad habits,” with Suicidal Tendencies bassist Ra Díaz stepping in for live duties. Díaz has remained Korn’s touring bassist since, appearing in promotional materials from the Requiem cycle, including the video for “Worst Is On Its Way.”
Since his hiatus began, Fieldy has maintained a notably low public profile, focusing on family life and his Christian faith — an aspect of his personal journey he has previously discussed in books and interviews.
The bassist himself has also left the door slightly open regarding a potential return. During a recent appearance on The Dr. Greenthumb Show — the podcast hosted by Cypress Hill’s B-Real — Fieldy was once again asked directly whether he would rejoin Korn onstage. His response remained cautious:
“I won’t be playing live, but we’ll see what tomorrow brings. You never know. For now, no. I’ve got a lot of things going on.”
While his comments rule out an immediate return to live performances, the ambiguity of his wording suggests the possibility isn’t entirely off the table.
Although the sighting does not necessarily signal a return to the band or changes to Korn’s current live lineup, the image suggests that lines of communication between Fieldy and Korn’s ranks may no longer be entirely severed.
