Mike Patton, Mr. Bungle’s frontman, is ceasing touring for the band early next month in order to focus on his separate music project AVTT/PTTN.

Announced via Facebook last Wednesday, Patton stated that the Mr. Bungle shows in Latin America will be the final ones “for the foreseeable future.” He subsequently revealed tour dates for AVTT/PTTN across the United States.

Patton has been a powerhouse in the experimental rock scene for quite some time, considered to be a pioneer of the nu metal genre. His contributions to Mr. Bungle date back to its founding, even during his time with Faith No More from 1988 until the band’s hiatus in 2021. In 2020 he helped to create The Raging Wrath of The Easter Bunny, with the album releasing the previous year.

Recently Mr. Bungle made headlines when they added “Retrovertigo” to their setlist, playing it for the first time in almost thirty years
