Progressive nü metal four-piece Mudvayne have officially gone platinum. The certifications, awarded by the RIAA on Friday, February 20th, 2026, were based on album and single sales in the U.S. The band's first three album, L.D. 50, The End of All Things to Come, and Lost & Found, all received platinum certificates. Their 2005 single "Happy?" was awarded gold, platinum, and double platinum status while "Dig" and "Not Falling" were nabbed gold and platinum plaques.
Mudvayne frontman Chad Gray took to social media to share his reaction:
Well shucks! Only took 25 years! Just wanted to say thanks to my band and all of the Mudvayne fans for making this happen. We couldn’t have done this without you! This is every bit as much of an award to our fans as it is to us.
I’m just grateful to have been a part of the ride. Thank you guys for giving me reason and purpose in my life. Thank you for inspiring me keep to working, writing, digging in deep and grinding it out! Year after year, album after album and tour after tour.
These are the reasons that I save sleep for death…if I’m living I may just as well be working! You’re all fucking incredible and I’m grateful to have each and every one of you in my life. Thanks for your help with this! To all those ones in 3 million that ever bought a Mudvayne album…This celebration is for you too!
Stay humble and stay Metal as FUCK! See ya down the road!

For the uninitiated, gold and platinum certificates denote sales of 500,000 and 1,000,000 units respectively. There was a time, many, many years ago, when physical media (CDs, vinyl records, and cassettes) was the only way people could own and listen to music outside of concerts, radio, and television channels like the now-defunct MTV. And during this time, it was not uncommon for popular artists across genres to sell units in the millions—multiple millions, even—rather than the tens of thousands.
Even the RIAA has taken this shift into account: to reach the equivalent of one unit sold, either 10 permanent tracks must be downloaded, or a particular album must garner 1,500 on-demand streams. Similarly, 150 streams of a song counted as one track-equivalent unit.
While Mudvayne may be taking 2026 off, fans can see frontman Chad Gray performing Mudvayne and HELLYEAH song live on his 30 Years of Madness Tour. Gray's live band will include guitarist Christian Brady and Mudvayne touring guitarist Marcus Raffety. This tour also marks the first time in seven years Gray has performed HELLYEAH material live. Joining Gray on select dates will be genre-blending alt-rocker Kami Kehoe and Ohio rapper Doobie. Tickets available here. Gray is also part of the just-announced lineup for Louder Than Life on September 18th. Check dates and Mudvayne's new and improved 2025 singles below.
