As you may know, Slipknot is getting ready for their (sic)est Stadium Tour in support of their upcoming eighth studio album, with the start date of the tour being July 3rd in London at the iconic Wembley Stadium, with special guests Marilyn Manson, Lorna Shore & Hatebreed.
Councillor Anton Georgiou, who is also the leader of the Liberal Democrat Group at Brent Council, has asked for the venue to remove Marilyn Manson, with the reason being Manson's sexual assault allegations. In a statement, Georgiou asserted:
"We cannot keep saying that tackling violence against women and girls is everyone’s business and then fail to ask difficult questions when it really matters. It’s disappointing that the council has not spoken out publicly about this''
"The allegations against Marilyn Manson are serious, and while he denies wrongdoing, Wembley Stadium needs to explain what consideration was given to them before this booking was confirmed. It also needs to consider the message this sends to survivors of abuse."
The stadium later explained that they are not responsible for support acts, and that it's the promoter and the headliner's choice on who can be on support. Basically, it's Slipknot themselves and their promoter, Live Nation, who chose Manson.
