Twenty-five years have passed since Slipknot unleashed their self-titled blend of nu metal, death metal, industrial, and more. Hits such as “Wait and Bleed” and “Spit It Out” have stood the test of time, finding their ways onto numerous “Best Of” lists since their first assault on the airwaves. The album itself was certified platinum in the United States, a first for Roadrunner Records, and would go on to be certified double platinum in 2005, amassing over 2 million units in sales.
To celebrate the occasion, percussionist and videographer Shawn “Clown” Crahan is hosting a listening party via Spotify on Wednesday, September 11th at 3pm EST/12pm PT. Those who RSVP will be able to ask questions about, as well as enjoy, the full 1999 album alongside the iconic producer and remixer.
While some fans may be disappointed that this livestream event will not feature new music from Iowa's greatest exports, the opportunity to pick the brain of one of modern heavy music's greatest minds is one that should not be undersold.
