Slipknot Bring The Pain: Anniversary Tour Kicks Off in Noblesville, Indiana

“Nothing You Are About to Hear Tonight Was Written After 1999," frontman Corey Taylor declared from his maggoty pulpit.

The pain is finally here, and from where I'm sitting, it's looking pretty brutal.

Slipknot's Here Comes The Pain tour kicked off last night (Aug. 6) at the Ruoff Music Centre in Noblesville, Indiana.

“Nothing You Are About to Hear Tonight Was Written After 1999," frontman Corey Taylor declared from his pulpit. True to his word, and--along with their OG red boiler suits and Taylor's throwback dreads--very much in keeping with the 'knot's 1999 theme for this 25th anniversary tour, the 14-song set consisted of all material from either their eponymous 1999 breakthrough LP or songs included on reissues. Several of these had not been heard live in years; "Only One" hadn't been played since 2012, while "Get This", a track which originally appeared on import editions of the CD, and "Me Inside", a song that replaced "Frail Limb Nursery" and "Purity" on the first reissue, hadn't hit stages since 2019 and 2015, respectively. "No Life" had not been performed since the turn of the millenium. The only song from the record the band left off the setlist was "Diluted" (and "Mudslide", depending on your definition of "song").

The first stop of a two-month maggot-feeding run across North America, Slipknot are next headed to Burgettstown, PA. The tour runs into late September, culminating in their Iowa Knotfest date on September 21st, before hitting South America for a series of fall Knotfests in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. Grab tickets for any and all here.
