Slipknot Reunite With The Nu Metal Godfather Himself, Ross Robinson

Robinson was pivotal in the band's history, as he personally financed the studio sessions that produced this iconic album. During Slipknot's recent stops in California and Arizona, they reconnected backstage with their former mentor.

Slipknot's ongoing tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of their double-platinum 1999 self-titled album recently led to a reunion with an important figure from their past: producer, musician, and label executive Ross Robinson. Robinson was pivotal in the band's history, as he personally financed the studio sessions that produced this iconic album. During Slipknot's recent stops in California and Arizona, they reconnected backstage with their former mentor.

Robinson shared a photo of the reunion on his Instagram. Their last major collaboration was in 2001 on Slipknot's platinum-certified album "Iowa," which Robinson produced. Often referred to as The Godfather of Nu Metal, Robinson played a crucial role in shaping the genre, having produced early albums for bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit.

He also produced and mixed Slipknot's debut album, which was released through Roadrunner Records under Robinson's I Am Recordings imprint. Known for his intense and unconventional production style, Robinson has been influential in defining the sound of nu metal.
