Troma is the beating heart of independent filmmaking, with many of its alumni going on to highly satisfying careers, including James Gunn, Matt Stone, and Trey Parker. While yes, the current cinematic market is filled with remakes, reboots, and retreads of old IPS, the new Toxic Avenger, directed by Macon Blair and starring Peter by-god Dinklage, is batshit madness and a hell of a ride, and it's even got some choice nu metal representation.
The Killer Nutz, a band of vigilantes managed by Fritz Garbinger (Elijah Wood), are a self-labeled "monstercore" band who love chaos, and serve as the goon squad for the Garbinger family, particularly Robert Garbinger (Kevin Bacon) and his massive pharmaceutical fortune. The band consists of frontman Budd Berserk (Julian Kostov), the ancient language-chanting DJ Cool Cthulu (Needa Spasova), guitarists Nightmare Josh (Nencho Stefanov) and Venus Devalero (Duke Nwamerue), and parkour enthusiast and Flavor Flav wannabe Zodiac 3000 (Dimitar Bozhilov).

Now that the film has been released in all its unrated glory, tracks from The Killer Nutz have been released through Lakeshore Records, who handled the distribution of the film's soundtrack. It's a nod to the excesses of horrorcore, though given Troma's reputation, it is a loving tribute.
