Canadian hard rockers Three Days Grace are teasing the release of their upcoming single “Mayday,” the band’s first material since their reunion with original frontman Adam Gontier.
The song will debut Friday, Nov. 22 and feature joint lead vocals from Gontier and Matt Walst, who replaced Gontier as the band’s singer in 2013. A pending premiere and short preview of the song’s music video is available on the band’s YouTube channel now. The band also posted a video featuring Gontier and Walst acting out an arm wrestling match and screaming at each other, before the video morphs into the single cover for “Mayday.”

In early October, Three Days Grace announced Gontier’s return and the dawn of “Three Days Grace 2x” via social media.
The statement read, “After performing together in Nashville around this time last year and spending time in the studio since, we’re excited to announce the official return of Adam Gontier to vocals in Three Days Grace, with Matt Walst remaining as a lead vocalist, as well.”
That 2023 Nashville show featured Gontier joining the band on stage as they opened for Shinedown to perform “Never Too Late” and “Riot” from Three Days Grace’s landmark One-X (2006), according to Blabbermouth.
In the reunion statement, Gontier left an added note: “I feel like it’s been seamless, better than we were expecting. It’s like we got back in a room together and picked up where we left off. We have been friends for so long it’s kind of natural to get back in the room together.”
In an interview with Rock Feed in 2022, Gontier had said it was “likely” there would be a reunion with Three Days Grace in the future.
“We've all grown up. It's been a while. There's no hard feelings or anything like that,” Gontier said. “We're all in touch now and we talk and text and stuff.”
Walst also left a note in the reunion statement: “It’s been so much fun and inspiring making this record. Combining over 20 years of Three Days Grace and doing something that no band has ever done. I’m excited for the fans to hear it!”
