With the renewal comes a change at the top of the production team, as reported by Variety, as showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith will be stepping away from the show, with David Reed taking his place. Reed's previous works include The Boys, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
NBCUniversal, Peacock's parent company, also reported that the show logged 993M streaming minutes, positioning the show as the platform's second-biggest returning scripted series. While the series is based on the legendary PlayStation gaming franchise, the franchise has not seen a new title since 2012's entry for the PlayStation 3.
Both seasons of the series are streaming on Peacock.
