Queen of the Damned has one of, if not THE most nu metal movie soundtrack of all time. The film adaptation of the 1998 Anne Rice novel of the same name was released to the world in 2002, right as nu metal had a choke hold on the alternative music scene. As such, it would only make sense to include some of the hottest acts on the soundtrack. Not only does the movie feature a cameo from nu metal legend himself, Jonathan Davis of Korn, but his vocals are used as the voice of the rock band frontman and suave vampire Lestat. While he sang the songs for Lestat, he did not feature on the actual soundtrack itself due to contractual issues. However, Davis was enlisted as a producer. Notable names featured on the soundtrack include contributions from Disturbed, Linkin Park, Static-X, Deftones, Marilyn Manson, Godhead, Orgy, and Earshot.
Now, almost 24 years later, the film remains beloved to nu metal enthusiasts. The soundtrack is set to receive a special edition vinyl pressing in early January via Rhino Records, a beautiful bright blood red color that would fit right in on a vampire's record player. The centerpiece features the album cover but with a purple filter rather than the original turquoise coloring. It is available to order now on various record store websites.
