As fans of "alternative music," a term that only holds so much weight in the year of our lord 2026, we are often used to being shunned and cast out by "normies," another term that is tiresome these days. In any case, Raven Black, who are produced by the legendary Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Powerman 5000, et al), have a new track honoring oddities of all sorts with "Weird Is My Superpower."
Raven Black are theatrical and kitschy at their core, and the song leans into this. Yes, the lyrics are a bit ham-fisted (see "they were laughing at me, but I don't fucking care!") but there's a charm to be found within. It's just fun, and there's nothing wrong with that.
