Having grown up in the mid-to-late 2000s, I too was surrounded by AMVs, Toonami, and manga of varying quality, so blending heavy music and Japanese cartoons isn't anything new. Rise of the Northstar clearly saw a void that needed filled and decided to make it their mission, and damn it, they've succeeded.
Hailing from Paris, France, the band are set to release their fourth album Chapter 04: Red Falcon Super Battle! Neo Paris War!! via Reigning Phoenix Music. The album features thirteen songs which combine hardcore punk, nu metal, and beatdown for a special kind of decimating groove. In listening to the singles from Chapter 04, I found myself drawing comparisons to bands like Hatebreed and Limp Bizkit, all with more breakdowns than a senior thesis writer.
Those singles are "Neo Paris," "Back 2 Basics (ft. LANDMVRKS)," and "A.I.R. Max," and they all rip. Check them out below:
