It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you the 'Goose is loose. That's right, Atlanta nu metal upstarts Silly Goose are back with another track from their upcoming EP. This new single, "Set It Off," brings that patented Silly G energy, but this time around the band is taking a moment to show appreciation for the things that really matter in life.
Singer Jackson Foster shared the following:
'Set It Off' is about taking a step back and looking at all the things that are going right in life and just appreciating my friends and family. It's a reminder to myself to be thankful and live in the moment.
Working once again with producers Joey Burcham (Mod Sun, Kenny Hoopla, Atreyu) and Ryan Hall, this track shows how the band's sound continues to evolve. While the previous single, "Goodnight," had a rough and tumble sound to match the track's in-your-face energy and lyrics, this latest serving of OG nu metal bounce features some of the slickest, most assured work from the band yet. More than a cheeky fake-out, the serene synths that open the track foreshadow the spacey left turn in the song's bridge. But even when the guitars take a backseat, the band retains its muscular edge (shout out to that rumbling bass).
Next week fans can catch Silly Goose opening for Drowning Pool and Spineshank on their UK mini tour. Throughout the rest of the month, the band will join Magnolia Park for a series of dates across Germany and a headlining show in Rezé, France, with special guest Gehen. Following a few summer feastival stops, the band will head back to the States to open for Sleep Theory and hit up even more festivals. September will see the launch of the band's headlining Set It Off tour with support from Hotbox, Muttlee, and Cheem.
