Hot on the heels of the official release of their cover of *NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye," Sleep Theory have dropped their take on Paramore's "My Heart." The song, penned by lead singer Hayley Williams and founding guitarist Josh Farro, is the closing track from Paramore's 2005 debut All We Know Is Falling. With this latest cover, the Memphis alt/nu metal outfit take a surprisingly direct approach that still manages to showcase their musical versatility.

Being millennials from Tennessee, it should come as no surprise that Sleep Theory are fans of the Grammy-winning pop punk-turned-alt-rock mainstays. However, this rendition strips away the original's charging guitars and screamo flourishes in favor of something more in line with the worship subgenre—fitting, given the song's message of faith and renewing one's dedication to God.

I am nothing now / And it's been so long / Since I've heard the sound / The sound of my only hope / So this time / I will be listening

Since its debut during the May 20th, 2025, show in Birmingham, Alabama, this cover has become a regular feature of Sleep Theory's live set. The band easily could have delivered something soaring and hard-hitting, but this cover shows off their softer side and suggests a real, earnest connection with the material. The timing of its inclusion—debuting less than a week after the release of their debut album Afterglow and capitalizing on the success of tracks like "Stuck In My Head" and "Static"is surely not a coincidence either; countless artists have turned to God/spirituality when confronted with the pressures of fame.

Plus, it's another opportunity for the band to spotlight the vocal talents of lead singer Cullen Moore, bassist Paolo Vergara, and guitarist Daniel Pruitt. Tackling *NSYNC isn't just the band having fun; it's a flex.

Sleep Theory are currently on tour, hitting up the summer festivals, and, starting at the end of July, the band will kick off their North American tour with support from Atlanta nu metal upstarts Silly Goose. Into the fall, the band will also make appearances at festivals like KATTFEST, Sick New World, and Vans Warped Tour.
