Legendary bassist Les Claypool has just announced Claypool Gold, a massive tour featuring Primus, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, and Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. Promising "one mind-melting musical experience," what sets this tour apart is that "Each night, all the bands will share the stage all at once for a fluid show featuring wildly different setlists and surprises." Claypool has been particularly active in recent years. In 2023, he reunited The Fearless Frog Brigade after a 20-year hiatus for the 41-date Summer of Green Tour. Last year Primus put out an open call for a new drummer, sifting through over 6,200 entries before ultimately picking Shreveport mainstay John Hoffman. The process was documented in the 12-part YouTube series Primus Interstellar Drum Derby. The Claypool Lennon Delirium are working on a new album and released "WAP," their first new music in six years, yesterday.
