New Jersey based posthardcore/metalcore act With Sails Ahead have released their new single, "Y.E.R. (Your Eternal Ring)" today on all platforms. This is the first single from the band following the release of their debut full length record, Infinite Void this past April. Y.E.R. is definitively the heaviest track that With Sails Ahead has released to date, with crushing riffs and feedback laden guitars laying the groundwork for vocalist Sierra Binondo's rage filled screams.
Binondo stated this to the Nu Metal Agenda concerning the new single,
"'Y.E.R. (Your Eternal Ring)' is the first release following our debut full length record, 'Infinite Void'. While [Infinite Void] was a faithful blend of our influences, YER is our way of exploring what a darker, heavier [With Sails Ahead] song sounds like. Our band collaborated on writing the instrumentals together, Joe produced and mixed, kris Crummett mastered. The last time Joe mixed one of our releases was "Acid Redux"(released in spring 2022) so this is a pretty big deal! Their growth as an engineer here is very evident. This is also the first With Sails Ahead song with entirely screamed vocals. The lyrics are about a deeply personal subject. In the aftermath of my catastrophic breakup last year, my friends uncovered some pretty disturbing stuff and it made sense of a lot that I experienced towards the end of my 8 year relationship. All I'll say is if you play a certain JRPG MMO, you'll know what I'm talking about."
