After Release Their Cover Of Crossfade's "Cold"

The reimagining goes atmospheric and lush, a bold choice for the 2000s classic.

"Trip-pop” duo After have been catching some decent attention lately, and if you’re not familiar with them, then let this be your introduction.

Crossfade’s iconic hit “Cold” gets a fresh coat of paint in the hands of Justine Dorsey and Graham Epstein, reimagining the track into a breezy, somberly atmospheric ballad. Think Crossfade meets Kingdom Hearts, in a way. Where the original felt more like one begging for forgiveness, After puts it more in the perspective of someone who’s grappling with the grief and regret in the aftermath of who it was they hurt. It’s a prime example of how a cover can pay homage and play to the strengths of the new artist.

Check it out below:

After’s got a growing collection of tracks as of late with two EPs under their belt and a handful of singles. They’re also going on a small tour with Fleshwater this April:

04/02 Nashville, TN @ Exit/In
04/03 Birmingham, AL @ Saturn
04/05 San Antonio, TX @ Paper Tiger
04/07 El Paso, TX @ Lowbrow Palace
04/08 Tucson, AZ @ 191 Toole
