This Friday marks the release of DevilDriver's Strike And Kill, as the groove metal outfit fronted by Dez Fafara of Coal Chamber mark eleven studio albums and over a quarter century of fury. Following their recent singles "Dig Your Own Grave" and "Dead In The Water," the band have dropped the title track today (July 7th), and it is a crushing affair. Blending hardcore, death metal, slam, and a healthy dose of groove, the song is one of the heaviest in the band's long history, and putting out something catchy and captivating this deep into the game is no mean feat.
On the subject of the new song, Fafara offers:
"'Strike and Kill' is a song about individuals that have to learn lessons the hard way. Sometimes in life, you need to learn things the hard way in order to make your next decision or next move properly. Beware the moves you make at midnight behind emotion and without any thought of consequence. For you will learn lessons, and they will be taught to you the hard way."
Strike And Kill drops this Friday, July 10th via Napalm Records. The California groove machine will be making their way across North America soon with Upon A Burning Body and Ov Sulfur. The following dates have been announced:
