Evanescence has new music out with “Afterlife,” featuring on the soundtrack for Netflix’s upcoming animated adaptation of Devil May Cry. The song marks the band’s first new material since their 2021 album The Bitter Truth. It is also their second video game-related song, as they previously covered the Fleetwood Mac song “The Chain” for Gears 5 back in 2019.
The lyric video for the song features clips from the show, overseen by Capcom and Adi Shankar, with Studio Mir handling the animation. The song feels closer aligned to the band’s newer work, particularly their self-titled album from 2011. It is cinematic, anthemic, and a powerful anthem for the upcoming series.
Devil May Cry premieres on Netflix on Thursday, April 3rd.
