On Wednesday, March 4th, The Masked Singer had a tribute to Ozzfest and all things related to the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne. The episode started with the four performers for tonight - High Voltage, Galaxy Girl, Eggplant and Pangolin - coming out and singing Ozzy's signature track, "Crazy Train." Almost immediately, Ken Jeong, who was the most “Ozzed-out” judge, wearing Ozzy Osbourne glasses and a sick Ozzy Osbourne jacket to boot, cracked some jokes. Soon after, we meet our guest judge for the night, none other than Ozzy's daughter Kelly Osbourne, who had previously competed on Masked Singer in season two as Ladybug.
The first performer to rock out for the Ozzfest tribute night is High Voltage, a unique looking character whose head is a lightbulb. High Voltage sings Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” for his song choice, a classic and fan favorite Ozzy-era Sabbath song. We then get to see his post performance clue comes in on a little model train, naturally labeled the “Crazy Train.”

Next comes Galaxy Girl’s performance, our first non-Ozzy song for the night, “Drive” by Incubus. This is not off-topic, as in 1998 and 2000, Incubus performed at Ozzfest. After her performance get to see Kelly’s husband call-in, they actually had met at Ozzfest.

All of this Ozzfest talk makes for a great reminder that Ozzfest is set to come back next year. Information at this time is limited but what we do know is that it will be kicking off in Birmingham at Villa Park, the grounds of Ozzy's final performance at Back to the Beginning last July, for two nights before heading to the United States. Sharon has also stated the festival would be centered around young, up and coming acts in the metal scene.

Going back to the Masked Singer, we have Eggplant, he tries to “eat a bat” in tribute to the infamous bat incident we all know. Eggplant also does a non-Ozzy song with “One Step Closer" by Linkin Park, as they were part of Ozzfest in 2001.
Finally we have Pangolin’s performance where, in a beautiful tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, she sings his very own “Mama I’m Coming Home.” Her performance was so moving that Kelly was trying so hard to not cry but in the end she was moved to tears. After all those emotions, the “crazy clue train” goes “off the rails.”

After voting we are brought to our elimination battle, the Ozzfest Royale, between Eggplant and High Voltage. The song choice for the elimination song is Black Sabbath’s "Iron Man." After two really good performances, we find Eggplant is the one getting unmasked. It’s Jack Wagner, who shared the small screen with Sharon Osbourne in a cameo by the latter on The Bold and the Beautiful.
With Ozzfest coming back into the public consciousness thanks in part to this episode of The Masked Singer, stay tuned for any updates regarding the return of Ozzfest.
