KoRn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch is giving fans another chance to tap into the band’s signature early-era guitar tone with the announcement of his own limited edition preamp and fuzz pedal.

The new gold-colored pedal arrives after the rapid sellout of guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer’s Indigo Sludge edition earlier this year. Built as a dual preamp and fuzz unit, the pedal was designed to Head’s exact specifications and aims to recreate the crushing low-end-heavy sound that helped define KoRn’s groundbreaking early records.
In promotional material shared online, the pedal is described as using “the same ingredients that forged the sound,” with Head himself stating, “This pedal isn’t ‘inspired by’ it’s built on the same ingredients that forged the sound.”
The original Indigo Sludge edition generated significant buzz among KoRn fans and gear enthusiasts alike for its ability to channel the thick, grimy guitar tones associated with albums like KoRn, Life Is Peachy, and Follow The Leader. That version was tied directly to Munky’s tone preferences and sold out quickly after launch, prompting strong demand for a companion version centered around Head’s sound.

Like its predecessor, Head’s edition is being released as a strictly limited run, with only 500 units available for preorder. The pedal combines aggressive fuzz textures with a powerful preamp section aimed at recreating the weighty, percussive riffing style that became synonymous with KoRn’s rise during the late 1990s nu metal explosion.
Preorders are available now through KoRn’s official pedal storefront.
