Lzzy Hale of Halestorm Posts "Crawling" by Linkin Park Cover to Instagram

Linkin Park have been the center of much speculation this week. Between a countdown that restarted itself, several singers including Deryck Whibley making moves that might suggest that they, in fact, are Spartacus Chester Bennington’s successor for a potential LP reunion, and now an announcement for an event in the Los Angeles area on September 5th, fans are still trying to figure out just what is happening with the seminal act. Now, it would appear that another contender has thrown her hat into the ring… perhaps.

Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale posted a video to her Instagram of her playing “Crawling” on a piano and singing the Hybrid Theory hit. Unsurprisingly, she does the song justice, making something of a power ballad of the song.

It’s also worth pointing out that, while Halestorm toured with Evanescence a few years back, the two-woman power trip of Hale and Amy Lee played the LP song “Heavy” together. We speculated that Amy might be named as Chester’s successor, but perhaps we should have included Lzzy on the list as well.

What will the future hold? In the end, it doesn’t even matter, as if Linkin Park are making a comeback, we’re all winners.
