Between the most recent episode of Game Changer and this latest cover from Scranton's own Motionless In White, it's a good week to be a Goo Goo Dolls fan. The band are between tours right now, having wrapped leg one of their Sweat And Blood Tour recently, and it's been roughly six weeks since the release of their most recent LP Decades, but MIW have unleashed a surprising take on the alt-rock classic.
Bear in mind that, as the title for the video indicates, the take is from 2006, well before the band were household names or writing songs for professional wrestlers. That said, it does capture that mid-Aughts emo/post-hardcore vibe rather perfectly, and offers a look into what could have possibly been had the band not taken a turn for the more sinister and industrial-tinged.
While this isn't the first time the band have dropped a surprise cover, having done so with The Killers' "Somebody Told Me" some six years ago, this rare look at the band before they were infamous is a treat.
