While eyes are on their next effort with the potential working title of Private Music), Deftones have racked up a total of twenty-four RIAA certifications across thirteen of their singles. The new batch came on Thursday (July 3rd), and sees a number of the California alt-metal mainstays' signature tracks getting the nod from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
As a reminder, Gold certifications are given for releases that rack up 500,000 equivalent units sold, with Platinum certifications marking one million equivalent units sold. An equivalent unit can come from a total of 1,500 streams on recognized platforms, as well as digital or physical sales.
The biggest-selling among the singles include "Change (In The House of Flies)", which has received everything through quadruple Platinum, with "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" and "My Own Summer (Shove It)" reaching double Platinum status. "Passenger," "Rosemary," and "Cherry Waves" all reached Gold and Platinum status, with seven other singles reaching Gold status.
