Drowning Pool Confirm New Single, Announce Release Date

In a recent interview with IHeart Radio host Debbie Sexxton, guitarist CJ Pierce confirmed that Drowning Pool's long-awaited new music will be ready for release on September 20th. The band, consisting of Pierce, bassist Stevie Benton, drummer Mike Luce, and vocalist Ryan McCombs are releasing their first single with McCombs in 13 years.

In the video, Pierce stated, "It was great working on the song together," and that they had been in the writing process for new material since the beginning of last year, with live performances and tour life taking the front seat for most of that time period.

In regards to the lyrical and musical influences of the song, he continued,

"We had a couple of different rewrites and redrafts just to make sure the flow is right to get the point across, it's more of a general thing about what's going on now. we definitely need a big change- not specific to any country or government or religion as mch as just as a whole. It's more about planet earth."

"I'm so excited, man. It just came out naturally. We never tried to write like a Bodies Part Two or a Tear Away Part Two. We just write what we feel at the time and the excitment that we had and the energy we have with Ryan being back in the band, the song definitely has that vibe to it."

While we are still waiting on the details of the new single title, with the excitement and explanation from Drowning Pool, it's safe to say it'll make us hit the floor.
