South Carolina alternative metal legends Islander drop a faithful cover of Deftones' 2000 single “Back to School (Mini Maggit).”

Islander began teasing the track at the beginning of this summer, posting an Instagram reel of the band rehearsing it in practice with the caption “If they're not gonna play it, we figured someone should“
The band has since been adding the cover to their live rotation, performing it on their four supporting dates for Flyleaf and Lacey Sturm's self-titled 20th anniversary tour.
With an official studio release, it looks like the track is set to become a staple of the ever-growing Islander catalog.
Deftones has not performed ”Back to School (Mini Maggit)” since 2022.
