Pop Quiz: What do two-time National League MVP Bryce Harper, Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman, and Grammy-winning nu metal singer Jonathan Davis have in common? As of today, all three have been chosen as Grand Marshals for the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube.
This Saturday, March 15th, at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, fans can see the Korn frontman kick off the motor race thanks to a cross-promotional partnership between NASCAR and the newly revived Sick New World. This announcement comes in the form of a video of Davis making the rounds at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in a car sporting the Sick New World logo.
Davis makes his pitch in a video uploaded to social media:
There's something about NASCAR. It's bold, unapologetic, and in your face. It's kind of... metal. With drivers itching to flip the switch, there's only one thing left to say...
It's here the intro to Korn's "Blind" builds to the classic "Are you ready?!" line on the soundtrack. Davis continues:
Maggots! Put the pedal to the metal at the Pennzoil 400 March 15th at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
"Our concerts are loud, fast, and full of chaos, which sounds a lot like a NASCAR race," said Davis in a statement. "I’m excited to jump into that world and soak up the energy of the track in Las Vegas."

"The Pennzoil 400 is all about big moments, and having Jonathan as our Grand Marshal is going to set the tone for an unforgettable race day." Surely NASCAR fans will be a bit better behaved than a certain someone in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
In the coming months, fans can see Korn and a whole smorgasbord of classic alt-metal and nu metal acts at the Las Vegas and Forth Worth iterations of Sick New World. Fans in Latin America can catch Korn on the Are You Ready Tour with special guests Spiritbox and Seven Hours After Violet throughout May. And just last month, the band let slip that they've begun work on a new album.
