Max Cavalera was recently interviewed on the Nu Pod podcast and uttered the words all nu-metal and metal fans have been waiting to hear:
“I’m actually working on new Soulfly this year, writing and hopefully recording. But I don’t think it’s gonna come out till next year.”
This impending album will be the band's 13th album and a follow-up to Totem which arrived back in 2022.
Totem saw Max tapping more into nature, spirit animals, and native cultures. If you haven't had a chance to give Totem a spin, I highly recommend it. "Scouring the Vile" is my favorite track from the album because it shares a sentiment I think we all can agree with — fuck cancer!
