No, Kid Rock Wasn't Addressing The Pentagon On The Strait Of Hormuz

But at the rate this administration is going, we can't blame anyone for thinking so.

With the way that the US administration is showing its love to Kid Rock, the image of the man born Robert James Ritchie addressing the Pentagon briefing room kicked off a great deal of buzz on social media. While the photo that accompanied the post is legitimate, the claim that was passed around socials, attributed to have originated with a post by Spencer Hakimian which has since been archived, is not.

Last month, Kid Rock was visited at his Nashville mansion by Apache helicopters, in a moment that saw the airmen involved not face disciplinary action. By month's end, Rock would join Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a celebration of America's 250th birthday, with the DUI hire writing the following in a since-archived tweet (yeah, there's a theme here):

Joined my friend @KidRock -- and some of our great @USArmy Apache pilots – for a ride this morning. (More to come on that!) Kid Rock is a patriot and huge supporter of our troops. The War Department is wasting no time celebrating America's 250th – home of the free because of the brave.

When the aforementioned Hakimian tweet made the rounds, the Pentagon's Chief Spokesman Sean Parnell issued the following statement on Wednesday:

Earlier this week, Army helicopters operated in the National Capital Region in support of a Freedom 250th community relations event. As a part of that event, Robert 'Kid Rock' Ritchie participated in multiple troop touches with service members and filmed videos for Memorial Day, America's 250th birthday, and for his Freedom 250 tour. At each stop along his tour, Kid Rock has generously pledged 1,000 free tickets for members of the military and veterans. The visit today provided an opportunity for Kid Rock to thank service members, highlight the professionalism of the men and women supporting the mission, and recognize their continued sacrifice in honor of our nation. The Department is grateful for Kid Rock's long-time support of our troops.

In short, while the photo is legitimate, Kid Rock did not wax poetic about the trade route which has been mostly shut down since February 2026, following the US and Israeli invasion of Iran. But at the rate this administration has gone, it wouldn't have shocked many if this had actually happened.

But hey, at least Kid Rock didn't have a gaudy-ass suit this time.
