This announcement follows an incident at the band’s January 12 show in Louisville where paramedics were called for Rivera 16 songs into the set, according to a previous statement from Nonpoint vocalist Elias Soriano.

“Literally, we had one and a half more songs to do, and [Rivera] really wanted to do it, but the paramedics wouldn’t let him do it,” Soriano said. “So thank you for everybody for all your support. Everything is okay. [Rivera] is doing good.”

According to Rivera’s statement, he was set to resume performance in Greensboro, North Carolina the day the video was posted, January 14.

“I want to thank everybody at the George Hospital in Louisville that took care of me, and they just looked out after me,” Rivera said. “It was a very stressful [and] overwhelming and emotional 24 hours, and scary, and I never want to go through that again.”

Rivera revealed he received swift treatment for an elevated heart rate. Now that several tests have returned clear, he expressed his eagerness to get back on stage. Rivera also specified one factor which did not cause the health scare.

“I’m here to rock out and continue the Painful Statements tour, but I do have something that I need to get off my chest. To the people that said that this was due to drugs: Shame on you. Anybody [who] knows me out there knows that I do not use drugs at all or drink alcohol.”

Nonpoint has eight more stops on their Painful Statements tour which commemorates the 25th and 20th anniversaries of their albums Statement and To the Pain, respectively.
