Nu Metal Community Breathes Sigh of Relief as Bill Maher Produced, Fred Durst Hosted UFO Podcast Canceled

The yet-to-be-released podcast by the Limp Bizkit frontman experienced a failure to launch.

Fred Durst, the mostly non-problematic red cap wearer and Limp Bizkit frontman, has explored several avenues following the band's heyday. While the Jacksonville nu metal icons are touring here and there, but Durst has also gone into the world of film and television, most recently making a cameo appearance in Kyle Mooney's A24 joint Y2K. One of his more recent ventures, however, has been stopped before it could even get off the ground, as the podcast network it was associated with has been shuttered. Club Random Studios, formed by devil's advocate supreme Bill Maher, has ceased operations, according to a new report by Semafor Media. Two individuals associated with the studio report that episodes of their respective podcasts have not been released in months, with the hook of the studio being that it was “uncancellable” and immune from a perceived overreach of liberal media. Welp. How'd that work out for you, Bill? With the shuttering of Club Random, Fred Durst's announced podcast on UFOs may not see the light of day, as no episodes of the show can be found online at this time. Contrarianism is one thing, platforming bad faith arguments is another, and at this point, I don't want to hear any BS about “go woke, go broke,” cuz it seems like the conservative grift only gets one so far in the end.
