System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan has waded into some discourse surrounding public figure and critically acclaimed producer/artist Kanye West's wife Bianca Censori in a recent one sided exchange via Instagram on January 6.
Ye shared several pictures of his latest wife Bianca Censori in celebration of her 29th birthday, one of which included her in a low-cut top while writing, “Caption this.” Dolymayan responded, "Show some class man. You have kids who look to you for moral guidance and this is supposed to be the person you protect the most. Your wife isn't supposed to be your trophy, she's your place of pride and dignity. This isn't the way."
Dolymayan, who has made a name for himself with political and social views that seem to contradict his own band’s messaging for decades, doubled down critiquing Ye and his wife with an additional comment after a fan defended the posts as simply celebratory of Censori’s birthday, stating, "would you show pictures of your wife's tits to your friends? Your parents? If so, you and I don't see things the same way and no amount of explaining will change that. Good luck to you."
System Of A Down and Kanye West have had some direct and indirect connections in the past, sharing solidarity with his then in-laws the Kardashians recognizing the Armenian Genocide and continued humanitarian struggle, and sharing the same stage within a week’s time in Armenia in 2015.
